I found this gorgeous sparkly dress in a thrift shop in London and thought it was perfect for New Years! Too bad it was shapeless and frumpy....
But check out the awesome neckline in the back! No way is that staying the back for long!
So, what was I gonna do? Cut it down to give it some shape? No way was I gonna cut into that many sequins! Jeez- I mean, look at 'em!
Add a belt? No, that would ruin the line...So I came up with an idea! I bought a couple buckles for 50 cents and grabbed some silver ribbon leftover from an old project. This is what I came up with: I added a mini belt-cinch to each side to gather the fabric and give the dress some shape!
I switched the front and back, and I wear it with the sleeves pushed up and the belt-cinches tied. I love it now - Minimal alteration, maximal shaping! Let me know what you think of my refashion! :)
